Java Joe`s Cafe in Saint Ignace

Went there for coffee and possible breakfast didn’t see a no smoking sign anywhere so we sat outside waiting for them to open I’m not from Michigan and I don’t live in the area so I was not a where that you could not smoke outside. When we were approached by a older couple who started basically screaming at us and informing us that there is no smoking within 15 foot of the restaurant so my sister got up walked 15 foot away and continue to smoke a cigarette all while being screamed at by this couple who I later found out we’re working on it if not on it. I’m usually follow all rules but there is a difference of telling someone loud and mean or just informing them of the rules she was extremely rude and I in return left don’t like rude and unkind people.

I’m so glad I found this place! The coffee was fantastic, and the food was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. 😄 They had great marble rye toast and gourmet coffee drinks. Fabulous little spot.

A great little place to go for food. We had breakfast on a wednesday morning it it was hopping. There was a bit of a wait then (20 min), but it went by quick. The owners are very friendly and our waitress did a great job.

Food was great, the owners are better! Loved chatting with the friendly staff. Atmosphere was really cool, and will definitely come back the next time we swing through

First off, I loved the newspaper-style menus. The Almond Joy Latte I ordered was great. The pancakes I ordered were delicious (and there were TONS to choose from.) The staff were friendly cheerful. Nothing negative about this place, probably one of the best breakfast spots I’ve been to in a while.

Our food was delicious! Our server was super friendly! The eggs benedict were wonderful!!

Very nice people! Great mocha coffee! My son had their strawberry shake and he loved it! He said strawberry shake is now his favorite flavor. We took this to go. Want to try their food one day. There was a long line for in house dining.

The food is excellent. Huge menu, tons of unique offerings. However, be prepared for a very long wait between ordering and getting your food. The servers are courteous, no complaints at all, just know it's going to take awhile to eat. I got the coconut pancakes and am thoroughly impressed!

The hostess was really rude upon arrival. The food was just sad. Would not recommend. The only good thing was the colorable menus.

Hands down my favorite place i ate in my entire week stay in st Ignace truely a hidden gem from the beautiful art Too the soulful vibes u can see in this building and owner to the great hard working staff.. I was greeted with nothing but great coffee smiles and out of this world coconut French toast!! def will be back again..very soon :)

My family and I were there today for breakfast. We have been in the U.P. all week and my wife and I agreed, this was the best food we had in 7 days. But the service made the visit even better. Great experience! Our kids said, they wish we had a place like Java Joe by us in western WI. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sandy and Joe (the owners) are the cutest old couple ever! The food is great, the service is quick, and the atmosphere is one of a kind!

The first time I came here, I was thrown off by the aesthetic of the building, but the food sold me right away. The menu is full of great breakfast/brunch items and includes a lot of great interpretations of classic dishes. My family now has a tradition of stopping here for a meal anytime we're in the area.

Beautiful service. Best Chai Latte I've ever had. Delicious omelettes. Love little hole in the wall, small businesses such as this.

Awesome owners, friendly staff, cute atmosphere, and AMAZING food. The menu has so many options it's hard to pick just one. We have gone here multiple times and each time we get something different and delicious. Absolutely love Java Joe's! It is a must-do on a trip through St. Ignace. Highly recommended and worth the wait!

Unprecedented, never had such rude Hostess. When we asked for take out food order because that was what was posted online, she clapped her hands telling us to keep reading that they aren't doing to go orders and most of the restaurants are not even open. That's fine if that's the case but it's no excuse to be rude and hateful to potential customers. Our money was better spent at B-M-L diner down the street.

Such a cute place to stop for breakfast. Menu can be a little overwhelming but found what we wanted. Food is delicious and super rich! Tons of butter but very filling. Bathroom clean and I love the color scheme of the whole place. The eggs Benedict and lobster omelet were amazing.

Mete (sorry if I misspelled it) and Donna both provided excellent service. Donna was personable and gave recommendations for the island. Mete made sure the coffee was full and that everything was to our liking.

Went for breakfast. Were greeted immediately by the very outgoing and friendly owners. Even though I was not a Packers fan, they forgave me and allowed me to be seated in their cozy establishment! Large selection of breakfast items. Coffee was great. Food even better. Served by spunky waitstaff. Fun decor all around.

Great food. Great atmosphere. The owner and staff were delightful. The owner even gave us excellent directions for a scenic drive up to Pictured Rocks! Will definitely eat here again when passing through!

Food and coffee was amazing! Heidi was so nice and took the time to make sure my friends and I were taken care of. I know they were extremely short staffed so we appreciated how quick our service was! A must stop if your in St. Ignace!
